Once you have successfully passed your Practical Driving Test you have demonstrated your ability to drive but you have not yet had the experience of driving in the different hazardous situations that you will now encounter. Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test due to lack of experience. You are in a position to do something about this because you are now eligible to extend your driving ability and experience in one of two ways:

Motorway Tuition

FastPass offer Motorway Courses in Salford, Eccles and the surrounding areas of West Manchester close to the M60, M602, M62 and M56 motorways.

If you have never driven on a motorway before then this is the course for you. This is a 2 hour intensive course in which you will learn how to best enter and exit a motorway, change lanes safely and overtake other vehicles. You will also learn to read the signs giving you directions and to position yourself in the correct lane in plenty of time for your manoeuvre. A thorough understanding of how the emergency services operate will be given and what to do in the event of a breakdown.

Motorways are high speed roads often with three or more lanes of fast moving traffic so you have to concentrate at the highest level and be constantly aware of other road users around you. Decisions have to be made much sooner than you may have been used to, in order to ensure your safety and that of others.

Pass Plus

FastPass offer Pass Plus in Eccles, Salford and the surrounding areas of West Manchester which can significantly reduce your motoring costs.

This is a training course specifically aimed at new drivers and aims to build upon your newly acquired driving skills and knowledge. Once successful, you will be issued with a certificate which is recognised by a number of insurance companies who will offer a discount on your motor insurance. It will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards which will help you to become more confident on the roads, for example:

• Driving in town
• Driving in all weathers
• Driving on rural roads
• Driving at night
• Driving on dual carriageways
• Driving on motorways

You will not need to take a test at the end of the course but you will be continually assessed by your instructor.
